Full Coverage SPF
Look I am not the sort of person who patronises you and tells you what to do but JOOKE! Of course I am that person.
The best piece of advice I could ever give anyone young is DO NOT TAN. It’s advice I wish I’d taken 15 years ago when, fresh off the Thai long-tail boat and sporting a deep suntan courtesy of five months in Asia that I was desperate to maintain, I arrived at Newcastle University, where being David Dickinson mahogany year-round is de rigueur and twenty sessions on the sun beds are cheaper than a triple vodka coke.
When I wasn’t lying rigid in the melanoma coffin I was doing it au natural by baking in the actual sun and my skin now is testament to all that insanity. I have to see a clinical dermatologist annually so that she can whip off anything potentially sinister in haste and I look at least 10 years older than my true age.
I won’t go near the sun now and am quite fanatical about daily sunscreen. Aforementioned dermatologist recommended Clinique Super City Block SPF40, which ought to be worn from March to November. It is very light and has a slight tint so if you have fairly decent skin then it’s brilliant.
But the Clinique block just doesn’t give my sun-damaged hag face the coverage I require and I have to wear a foundation on top too, which seems to me a bit wasteful, not to mention expensive. I had been desperate to find some thick Polyfilla with enough SPF to protect the shit I’ve got left.
IT Cosmetics have brought out a fantastic CC cream that is exactly what I need - MUD. My dermatologist says she’s never heard of it but that if it’s sold in Boots it should be fine as their in-house dermos and sunscreen buyers are SPF emperors or something. I can wear it on its own for a near-flawless complexion and it’s SPF50 so I know that I’m getting the best possible sun protection too.
This is not an #ad - fuck I wish it was because the bastard stuff is £30 a tube, but a little goes a long way and let’s face it you can’t put a price on anti-hag beauty hacks err I mean sun protection.
